Siamese Cats
This site will tell you all you want to know about Siamese cats and more, so come on
in and enjoy all the stuff you will find out about these unique creatures.
First off I will tell you about the history of the Siamese cat. They were first imported from Thailand which was
called Siam. The first Siamese cats that came here where a gift from Siam to an ambassador who brought them to
us.
They were so popular they started showing in cat shows right away. The exact place where they came from is
not known, but is said to be from Southeast Asia.
They used to be called Wichien-maat which means "moon diamond."
The Cats from Siam, looked a lot like the ones we have today; they were affectionate, calm, and typically
healthy and long lived, though living over 20 years was very rare.
That is the history of the Siamese cat as it is known.
They are very good companions and are very good with people. They love to be around people. They will play with
toys, sit on your lap or just wander around the house. They are not energetic but also not lazy.
Siamese cats are very calm, and don't get bothered easily, making them good with kids. Although they may
not be too tolerant at times. Because they are very calm they make great pets for those living in apartments as
well as a house. That is why Siamese cats are well like by a lot of people, of course it could have something
to do with their looks.
They are very intelligent. Though you may have just thought, this is the perfect cat because I will be able
to train it easily, I would have to protest. It really depends on their personality. If you have a Siamese cat
that is a protester then he may not do something when you say to or may not do it right away. (after
you leave the room they may do it)
Some are keen to showing their owners how to play fetch, and know a lot of how to get what they want. They can
be sneaky so keep an eye on them, as they may just wait till your back is turned to try something.
They are very loud when they want something. They are known for their loud cry. Sometimes when you are on
the phone it will be mistaken for a baby crying.
Mostly they only meow if they are trying to make a point. Probably not trouble unless you are punishing them and
they are upset about it. A lot of this also depends on the cat though, some are very vocal and some are not vocal
unless they have something to say. You will be able to tell which they are when you get the cat.
They are known for their color. "Seal points" have brown tips on them (tips=ears, nose, tail, paws, sometimes
eyes). Also there are "blue points" which they have blue (gray) color on their tips.
They are very beautiful creatures. If you get one or have one, make sure to brush their fur clean and they will
bond with you when you are doing it.
Siamese cats are not outside cats. And it is highly recommended that you not go outside without a leash on them.
Lots of cats get hurt outside from cars. You are responsible for your cat's welfare; so don't put your cat in
danger.
In conclusion, this is all information that you will use if you ever get a Siamese cat. You may decide you don't
like them from reading this, but that's okay. Getting a cat is all about choosing the right breed. It's not just
looks, it's all about personality.
If you like Siamese cats and you are looking into getting a cat, then you should definitely include a Siamese
cat as one of your options. They are wonderful and loveable pets and many people just love them.
